Arlene Magloire Art Space
Arlene Magloire is a multi-dimensional artist born in New York. In 1979 she completed her studies in Business Administration, but her passion was always for the arts.
While growing up, the arts where her world. As a child, she was already designing and decorating. She drew, she painted, she danced with Liz Williamson, she also played the violin. After graduating from college in 1979 she moved to Sweden and surrounded herself with artists, always shying away from expressing her own talents. She then lived in Spain and the home of El Greco in Toledo became her favorite place to be.
She moved to Haiti, her country of origin, in 1983. She taught English and worked as a substitute teacher at an American School and continued surrounding herself with all types of artistic events. In 1991, she returned to New York and studied art at Queens College. It was then that she embraced her childhood dream and let art enter her world and decided to paint professionally. She returned to Haiti and in 1996 she had her first exhibit.
Her extensive travels to many different countries of the world continuously broadens her conception and understanding of art. Her experiences from country to country influences the moods she gives to her themes, however, her Haitian heritage is evident in her subjects and vibrant colors.
Arlene, an interior decorative artist, is a jewelry designer, a designer and decorator of fine collectible objects d´art and sculptures. She shows a great interest in the human form and her greatest challenge is to find ways of incorporating these forms into her creations. She has a love for interior decoration and harmony of colors. She is also a muralist and does installations using different techniques and media.
Arlene Magloire has designed the Haitian Heritage Museum logo which was launched at the first annual Haitian Heritage Museum Benefit Gala on February 26, 2005 at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in North Miami, Florida.
She is featured in the book "Haitian Art in the Diaspora", a publication of Vie & Art Collections, September 2003 and in the 2006 edition of the European publication, “Who’s Who in Visual Arts”.
Arlene is also an events coordinator. She curates artistic events and her new venture MozaikArts, (just a coincidence), launched in December 2005 was formed to promote art and entertainment productions.
She continues to exhibits internationally. Her work can be comissioned. She may also be contacted for any cultural or personal event you may be planning. MozaikArts main mission is to promote artistic talents from artists from around the world.
